Nanay Bettys was created to provide a pleasant dining experience for all with
flavorful Filipino cuisine at a very reasonable price.  Within the comfortable
environment, you can definitely tell that youre part of an extended family and not
just a regular customer.  Looking for karaoke?  Friday and Saturday nights will
come alive with the sounds of the audience members singing their own renditions
of Frank Sinatras "My Way" alongside more contemporary artists and music.
There are several main dishes that may be familiar to many: lumpia [loompia]
(Filipino egg rolls), pancit (rice noodles with stir fried vegetables) and adobo
(chicken, pork, or beef with a little gravy) ; and some deserts that may not be so
familiar: leche flan (caramelized egg custard), biko [bee ko] (sweet rice
simmered in coconut milk and brown sugar), and halo halo (crushed ice desert
with numerous sweets).  Lunch time is served from the steam table with many
tasty items to choose from.  For those who arent sure what to order, samples
can be provided to make a quick determination about what would suit your
appetite.  Definitely crowd favorites are the crispy pata (deep fried ham hock)
served with a homemade dipping sauce and the tilapia platter (fried tilapia) with
both having crispy outsides and tender juicy inner meat. Also provided is a tasty
drink known as sago [sa go], which is akin to sweet tea with a major difference:
there are tapioca balls and gelatin at the bottom of the glass adding a little
substance to the liquid.  For the carb lovers there are also bakery items such as
pan de sal (light roll for either breakfast or dinner) and sio pao [show pow]
(steamed bun made from rice flour with meat and gravy inside) that are typical
favorites. Many items to choose from and all reasonably priced and a treat
worthy of many returns. From our family to yours, Mabuhay [Ma boo hi]
(Welcome)!  Come on in and try something different, were sure you will enjoy it.
